Back in the US of A
Well, we're home. It's weird being back. Really weird. Really, really weird. But it's nice. My mom's cats are happy to have us. "American Idol" is on seemingly every night. It's springtime. The blossoms are out. The neighbors are out washing their cars. Life is good.
Speaking of cars, yesterday I drove my old stick-shift for the first time in a year, and I've probably never had a more enjoyable ride in my life. It was an innocent trip to the grocery store. Brendan wanted to come along, but I made him stay behind. See, when the two of us are in a car, he always drives. I usually don't mind being a passenger, but yesterday I just really wanted to be behind the wheel and in control. And I didn't want anyone offering constructive criticism on my driving skills, or hogging the radio dial.
He pouted a little as I pulled out of the driveway (a little too fast, admittedly), but all was forgiven when I came back with his favorite Whole Foods frozen chicken pizza. Of course, that was before he discovered that the only milk available to wash down his cereal was made of soy.

Welcome back! I've been following your adventures since before you guys officially left AOTS (man, that show is just ont the same without you both) and I'm claiming serious envy. Congrats on making it through so much together without killing each other. You guys have settled into the Bay Area, right? Give a shout if you'll looking make new friends in the area. We can try out some drinks and games from the old Lush segment days.
Wow Sarah, I can't believe you guys are home already. I remember when you guys left AOTS and I was so sad, and then reading all the travel posts, it's just nuts to think that that's all over. Craziness! Well I know you vacation honeymonn was good, so I hope you guys are having fun back at home!
I get like that when i go back to Britain. I've lived all over, the US, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Japan and if i go back (usually once every two years or so) i feel soooooooo weird, even though everything is just as i remember it.
Soy JUICE is the second worst thing eco-nuts have forced on the world, next to vegiburgers. Its JUICE not milk. And nasty juice at that. I'd rather just eat my cereal dry.
Don't forget Vegtable Lasagna, I had that on my vacation, the lady didn't tell anyone it was veggie, the sign just said Lasagna, I took one bite and wanted to throw up. Odd, since I like both vegtables and lasagna... it was gross, everyone else at the table thought so as well.
But Soy milk? ugh, that's just wrong, that defeats the whole point of even having cereal.
Sarah, let the man eat what he wants! No one should be forced vegan, that's how murder sprees happen. Seriously, wheter you care for him or not and see it as an act of health conciousness, trust me, life is too short not to eat a big steak if that's what you crave for. We have meat chewing teeth, it can't be unatural.
Oh my god! I love how people know how to spell. Oh sorry...spmell.
Soy milk is good, & especially for keeping the hormones balanced, for women.
I have a vegan friend and even she told me that soy milk takes a while to get used to. She had me drink some, it was pretty bad but then again I don't like cow milk anyway.
Wow I had no idea you were back.I haven't checked your blog in a few weeks so you know... anyway.btw I thought the trip was suppose to be 13 months long?
